Concordia names Danielle McGuiness Track and Field Head Coach

The Concordia University Ann Arbor Athletic Department announced that Danielle McGuiness will be the new Head Track and Field Coach, effective on July 1st.

Danielle McGuiness has already been at Concordia since 2019 as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for track and field. During that time, she had 3 NAIA Qualifiers, 2 WHAC Conference Champions, 2 NCCAA Champions, 3 NCCAA All-Americans, 40+ NCCAA Qualifiers, all of the women's throws school records, 2 NCCAA Athletes of the Week, 2 WHAC Athletes of the Week.

Concordia Athletic Director Lonnie Pries "Danielle has been a part of our track and field program over the past few years and done a tremendous job with the throwers in the program.  She has also played a key role in the program as the recruiting coordinator.  It will be exciting to see how Danielle's passion for the sport and dedication to the student athletes helps develop the culture of the program as she takes the helm as head coach."

McGuiness is a 2012 graduate of Endicott College, where she earned her Masters of Business Administration. She received a Kinesiology degree from University of New Hampshire in 2009, after she was the assistant coach at San Jose High School until coming to Concordia.

"I'm excited to step into this new role to take this program to a new level," says Danielle. "Lonnie has been an advocate for growing CUAA Track & Field and our visions are aligned in how to build upon our successes. We have a strong returning coaching staff and have also recently added Coach Jazz, who will oversee sprints/jumps/hurdles. Winning championships is on the agenda, but developing great people is a priority. I'm confident and eager to get back to work with everyone to continue to raise the bar for this already great program."
