Women's Cross Country sees multiple Personal Records at Lansing Invite

(Lansing, MI) - The Women's Cross-Country team traveled to Grand Woods Park in Lansing for the Lansing Community College hosted invite. The team competed on a very warm afternoon against more than 20 teams from across the state. The team finished in 13th place overall.

The team was led once again by Macee Ripke (Freshman; Napoleon, OH) with a finishing time of 22:30. She was followed closely by fellow teammate Michaela Kurth (Freshman; Ypsilanti, MI) with a time of 22:45. Emma McKinley (Freshman; Gaylord, MI) ran a new personal best time of 23:27 to finish third for the Cardinals. Amanda Fogo (Sophomore; Fowlerville, MI) came across the line at 23:41 as the Cardinal's fourth runner. Grace Finley (Freshman; Monroe, MI) also ran a new personal best time to finish as the team's fifth runner and rounded out the scoring.

Rachael Byers (Freshman; Plymouth, MI) finished in a time of 24:06 and was followed closely by Mary Salem (Senior; Troy, MI) in the season-best time of 24:11. Alison Doerr crossed the finish line in a time of 24:29. Junior Chloe Gunter (Monroe, MI) finished right behind in 24:33 in her return from injury. Elizabeth Hines (Freshman; Ypsilanti, MI) completed the day for the Cardinals by finishing in a time of 26:47.

The team will take a well-needed week off of competition before heading to Bethel University in Indiana on Friday, October 6 for the Bethel University Invite.
