Cardinals announce staffing changes to department in preparation for upcoming year

The Concordia University Ann Arbor athletic department eagerly anticipates the start of a new academic year and fall athletics season. Athletics is preparing to serve student athletes through position shifts within the department.

Former Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations Kyle Thoms has been selected to serve the university as the director of enrollment (read here). Thoms had been involved with the department in various capacities since 2012.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Ricky Yahn was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in addition to his coaching responsibilities. He will continue to coordinate the department's compliance and eligibility for nearly 600 student-athletes. Yahn will add responsibilities included but not limited to scheduling, facilities, camps, and other operational duties within the department.

Matt Korte ('19, '19) has been promoted to Sports Information Director, taking the helm of the Cardinals' athletics communications and marketing efforts. Korte held his former role working alongside Thoms as Assistant Sports Information Director for two years. Korte's primary responsibilities include game day coverage, statistics, and website and social media content for over 26 sports and nearly 600 student-athletes.

Joining Korte in the SID office as Assistant Sports Information Director is Jacob Brendtke ('19, '21). No stranger to SID responsibilities, Brendtke just completed a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for Cardinals athletics in the SID office. Working alongside Korte, Brendtke will also help support the efforts through digital media content, fundraising initiatives, as well as game day coverage.
