Concordia Athletics set to host Hall of Fame Banquet

(Ann Arbor, MI) - On Friday, May 6th Concordia University Ann Arbor Athletics will host its Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. This year will see four individuals become a part of the Concordia Athletics Hall of Fame as the 11th class of inductees. 

"We are so excited to be able to finally induct in person our next Athletic Hall of Fame Class here at Concordia," said Director of Athletics, Lonnie Pries. "Our inductees left not only a lasting impact in their respective programs but on our university as a whole.  It is also very special to have not only athletes but also a former coach and educator recognized."

This year's hall of fame class includes four individuals whose efforts and achievements have significantly impacted Concordia athletics on and off the playing field.

 

  • Hannah Sabol ('13) - Women's Basketball - Sabol was instrumental in helping Women's Basketball reach three straight NAIA National Tournaments. Cardinal's all-time leading rebounder. Won 98 games in her four seasons.

  • Kirk Dueker ('89) - Men's Basketball - Fourth-most points scored in a career, while also having the most assists all-time. NAIA Academic All-American in 1989.

  • Ashley Hart Warner ('11) - Volleyball - Program's all-time leader in kills, block assists, and total blocks. Honored multiple times from the conference. Has set various other records in time as a Cardinal. 

  • Rachel Palmer ('69) - Instrumental in gaining Title IX for female athletes at Concordia. She was a part of multiple departments not only in athletics (including softball, volleyball, women's basketball, athletic training, and administration) but on campus as a whole. 

 

The ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6th in the Black Box of the Kreft Fine Arts Center at 5:00 PM. Dinner is included and tickets are $35 a person. Sales will end Friday, April 22nd.

For those that are interested, the CARDY's, CUAA Athletics version of the ESPY's, will be following the event that evening at 7:30 PM in the Cardinal Fieldhouse.
