Men's Golf set new 3-Round program low at the WHAC Fall Preview

(Augusta, MI) - The Concordia Men's Golf headed to Augusta, Michigan this week to compete at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Fall Preview. The event was at the Stoatin Brae Golf Course and featured 13 teams and played three rounds of golf. 

 

The Cardinals placed 10th in the tournament after posting scores of 318-311-303 for a final score of 932, which is a new program-low for a three-round event. The team score of 303 is the second lowest one-round score, while the 311 is the 6th lowest and the 318 is the 8th lowest mark. 

 

CUAA SCORES

The top CUAA finisher was Neil Heinlein, in 12th place, with a total score of 221, the lowest mark in program history, after having scores of 76-74-71(2nd lowest 1-round mark). Next was Gibson Wilke who scored 237 (7th lowest mark) after recording scores of 82-74-81. Andrew Sweitzer was golfer number three and finished a couple of strokes behind Wilke after scoring a 239 for the tournament with a 81-85-73(8th lowest 1-round mark). 

 

Jack Burnett and Zakary Schroeder were the final two golfers for Concordia and they posted scores of 242 and 248 respectively with round scores of 79-85-78 and 87-78-83 respectively. 

 

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Northwestern Ohio was the top team in the tournament after posting a -6 three-round score and a total of 846 strokes. 

 

Guillermo Garron from UNOH took the top individual spot at the tournament with a total score of 208 with a 68 and a pair of 70's.

The Cardinals will next compete at the Hornet Fall Invitational at the Kalamazoo Country Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 21.
