Men’s Tennis swept by Blue Devils

(Southfield, MI) Concordia Tennis traveled to Lawrence Tech to take on the Blue Devils in a conference head-to-head battle. Lawrence Tech came out strong out of the gate, defeating the Cardinals 7-0.

The Cardinals looked to bounce back after taking on a ranked Racers team last time they took the court, but the Blue Devils had other plans. In doubles play, the Cardinals saw Jaxon Cain and Jan Lloveras Freix take the court, followed by Justin Pedro and Zachary Pedro. Lawrence Tech swept Concordia in both of the doubles matches. The Blue Devils won the third match by forfeit.

In singles play, Lawrence Tech swept the Cardinals in all six matches. Justin Pedro took the court first for the Cardinals while Jan Lloveras Freix played in the 2nd match. Zachary Pedro played in the 3rd match, while Jaxon Cain and Clinton Harris III wrapped up the day for the Cardinals in the 4th and 5th matches, respectively. The Cardinals were forced into a forfeit for the 6th match as they only had five players.

The Cardinals will next be in action tomorrow March 24th as they host Lourdes for their first home games of the season. The Cardinals will be on their home court once again on Tuesday March 25th at 4 PM as Indiana Tech comes into town. The Cardinals will wrap up the week with a matchup against Aquinas in Grand Rapids on Saturday, March 29th at 12:30 PM.
