Grueter and Brittain sweep WHAC Player's of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced their weekly Player's of the Week for Softball and a pair of Cardinals were honored following the team's opening weekend of play. Maddy Grueter and Elyse Brittain were named WHAC Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively. 

 

Grueter, a senior from Kalamazoo, Michigan, earns her first WHAC Player of the Week honor after leading the team on offense in the series split against Spring Arbor. Grueter tallied three hits in her seven at-bats while collecting four RBIs in the pair of games. She added two doubles in the first game against the Cougars as well. 

 

Brittain, a senior from Lansing, Michigan, pitched the second game of the series against the Cougars where she went 6.1 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts. She had a WHIP of 1.42 and an ERA of 4.42. 

 

The Cardinals will be back in action in Arizona on Sunday, March 2 with a first game against St. Francis (IL) with a second game against La Sierra.
