Women's Cross Country competes at the Great Lakes Challenge

(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Women's Cross Country team traveled to Riverside Park in Grand Rapids on Saturday, October 22 for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge, which featured over 50 teams from across the country and some of the best talent in the country as well. The Cardinals competed in the white division race, which paired them up with familiar conference schools in the second group of races on the day. The course was in great shape and times were all over the board with the unseasonably warm 70-degree day.

The Cardinals were once again led by Chloe Gunter who finished in a time of 23:14. Amanda Fogo would finish second on the team with a time of 24:12. Alison Doerr finished as the third Cardinal in a time of 24:32. Mary Salem finished in 25:04 and was fourth on the team. While Seraphina Ferrell rounded out the team score as the fifth runner and finished in 30:19.

The team earned 25th place in their race with 743 points. The team will get some good recovery time in before competing at the WHAC Championships in Toledo, OH on Friday, November 4.
