(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinal's Dance team will make their second straight appearance in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championships this weekend. 

The Cardinals earned their spot as the host team, after setting program highs once again this season.

The NAIA Championship will feature 12 teams. Those teams included are Aquinas, Baker (Kan.), Concordia (Mich.), Doane (Neb.), Graceland (Iowa), Grand View (Iowa), Loyola (La.), Midland (Neb.), Oklahoma City, St. Ambrose (Iowa), St. Francis (IL), and Viterbo (Wis.). 

The event will feature two rounds, one on each day of competition. The first routine will be the preliminary round and will count towards 25% of the overall score, while the second competition on day 2 will make up the remaining 75%. In the event of a tie, the score from the finals will be used to break the tie. 

2023 RESULTS

Winning their third-ever National title were the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. SAU took home the title after posting an NAIA National Championship record of 93.40. 

The Cardinals finished in 10th place after posting a score of 78.98 throughout the two-day event. 

2023-24 SEASON REVIEW

The Cardinals have competed in nine different competitions, eight of which are countable towards their average. Four of the contests have seen the Cardinals come out on top with a first-place finish. 

Senior dancer Lindsey Koshowsky earned Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Dancer of the Year as well as a part of the WHAC First-Team All-Conference. Makena Burke was also a WHAC honoree after being placed on the Second-Team All-Conference. 

The Cardinals took home their second-ever Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT) title in January as well.
