CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT: Six Women's Cardinal Student-Athletes named to the CSC At-Large All-District Team

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released their 2023-24 Academic All-District winners on Tuesday afternoon and six Concordia Cardinals were honored as they were named to the Women's At-Large All-District Team. 

 

The six cardinals named to the team were Treneice Coleman-Kelley, Alexia Glaze, Bianca Hrynciw, Makenna Burke, Gabriella VanHorn, and Alana Mortimer.

 

Treneice Coleman-Kelley, a sophomore from Clinton Township, Michigan, has a cumulative 3.63 GPA and is currently in the Nursing Program. 

 

A sophomore from Williamstown, New Jersey, Alexia Glaze is studying Occupational Therapy and has accumulated a graduate GPA of 3.61.

 

Bianca Hrynciw, a senior from Sylvania, Ohio, is a Rehabilitation Sciences major with a GPA of 3.80.

 

Burke, is a Sophomore from New Boston, Michigan, has a cumulative GPA of 3.79 while studying Marketing. 

 

VanHorn, a senior from Holt, Michigan, is studying Business Management and has a cumulative GPA of 3.57.

 

Alana Mortimer, a junior from Georgetown, Ontario, is a Business Management major with a GPA of 3.63.

 

The 2023-24 Academic All-District At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

 

The NAIA At-Large team members can be from a variety of sports including Women's Beach Volleyball, Men's and Women's Bowling (Compete is at least 4 competitions), Competitive Cheer (Compete is at least 4 competitions), Competitive Dance (Compete is at least 4 competitions), Men's and Women' Golf (Compete in 70% of team scoring events), Men's and Women's Lacrosse (Compete in 90% of team's games or start in 66%), Men's Volleyball, and Men's and Women's Wrestling. 

 

College Sports Communicators is a 3,200+ member national association for strategic, creative, and digital communicators across intercollegiate athletics in the United States and Canada. The organization was previously known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and was changed to its new name in August of 2022.

 

Nominees for the All-District team must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.50. The student-athlete must reach sophomore athletic eligibility to qualify for the honor.

 

The six Cardinals will now be placed on the ballot for CSC All-America consideration with those teams being released on July 16, 2024.
