Servant Leadership - Lauren Drinane

Servant Leadership - Lauren Drinane

One of our four core values for Concordia University Ann Arbor Athletics is servant leadership. We would like to introduce one of our alums who has exemplified this trait throughout her career.  She has continued to make us all proud to be a Cardinal as she has pursued her passions for serving others and working in athletics.

Lauren Drinane has been the Director of Operations for the Boise State Broncos Gymnastics Team after receiving her Masters in Athletic Leadership from Boise State University this past May. While she has been in Idaho, she has been the Assistant Events Coordinator and the Director of the Mountain West Conference Soccer Tournament. Lauren has worked the Big Sky Basketball Tournament and the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl (when another CUAA alum was there with his Kent State Football team), as well as specialized in television production during the men's college basketball season.

While Lauren was a member of our Cardinal Track Team, she served Concordia students and families by being a member of our Student Ambassadors Team in Admissions. She also worked in athletic administration and game day management as a student worker. She garnered great experiences by serving as event management for golf outings and facility management for University of Michigan crew team events. She also interned at The Rose Bowl and The Olympic Legacies. Lauren was also an area manager for Super Bowl LIV, and Social Media Manager for The Greatest Fan Border Battle. She also served on two mission trips while being a Cardinal student athlete.

The impact Lauren has had on the Bronco student athletes is very similar to the impact she had on our Cardinal student athletes. She has been a student leader for Athletes in Action on both campuses.

Lauren has exemplified the core values of Concordia University Ann Arbor by living them out. She has been a servant leader by having a championship mentality in every new venture and event she's attacked. She has been Christ-centered and focused on Jesus in every relationship she has nurtured here and at Boise State University. While her colors might have changed from red and black to blue and orange, some things never change, but only grow. It is that way with our last core value – integrity. Integrity was instilled and emphasized her entire life by her parents Dan and Nikki (2007 alum) and her sister (Tara – current Cardinal student athlete). Concordia continues to be thankful for alumni like Lauren.

Each edition of our newsletter will feature an alumni spotlight from our first 30 years and one from the most recent 30 years. Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal!
