Men's tennis falls to Adrian 5-2 at Chippewa Tennis Club to begin spring season

The Concordia men's tennis team resumed their competitive season making their first appearance this semester. The Cardinals hosted Adrian College indoor at the Chippewa Tennis Club in Ypsilanti, MI. The Cardinals showed continued growth and improvement from the fall but fell to the Bulldogs, 5-2. Newcomer Edgar Bautista (FR) and James Olson (SO/Charlotte, MI) picked up both of the Cardinals points in one and two singles respectively.

The Cardinals put forth a strong effort right from the start as Edgar Bautista and James Olson. took one singles to a tie breaker. The Cardinals would eventually drop the point 7-6 but held tough until the end. Edgar Bautista had is way at one singles with scores of 6-3,6-3 to earn the Cardinals first point. James Olson picked up the Cardinals second point at two singles, 7-5, 7-5.

The Cardinals remained respectable at the other matches winning several sets but fell short overall, 5-2.

The Cardinals will continue their spring season inext Saturday as they take on WHAC foe University of Northwestern Ohio.
