Softball announces Crittela as Graduate Assistant

(Ann Arbor, MI) Moving into her third season, Head Softball Coach Hailey Cavanagh has announced the addition of Paige Crittela to her 2019-2020 coaching staff. Crittela will be joining Cavanagh as a Graduate Assistant and will be the 1st base coach while working with outfielders and slappers.

"I'm excited that Paige is joining our coaching staff and program," said Cavanagh. "Instantly, I could tell Paige is a fierce competitor with a ton of passion for the game. She has been on some of the biggest stages in softball with back to back national championship appearances and a runner up finish with Herkimer – and I know that experience will help continue to elevate our program."

Crittela is coming to Concordia from NCAA Division II Mercyhurst University where she was a two year varsity letter winner and graduated with a degree in Sports Business Management. While a Laker, Crittela was an All-Conference Scholar Athlete for both years and played in a total of 44 games for Mercyhurst.

Before making the move to Mercyhurst, Crittela attended and played at Herkimer College in Herkimer, New York. The Generals made back to back trips to the NJCAA National Championship during Crittela's tenure, including a runner-up finish in her freshman year. During her sophomore year Crittela was named the captain of the eventual third place team and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Crittela batted .482 while scoring 72 runs and swiping 38 bags in her career as a General.

A native of North Syracuse, New York, Crittela is ready to begin the next step in her career. "I'm very excited to give back to the game that has given me so much. I always had a strong passion for the game and now I can share that with Concordia's student athletes. I am excited to share my knowledge with the student athletes and make them better on and off the field. I look forward to working with the entire athletic department at CUAA to see what we can accomplish as a team."
