2019 Softball Recruiting Class Announced

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head Coach Hailey Cavanagh will welcome seven student athletes to the Cardinal softball program when the 2019-2020 school year begins on August 26th. The Cardinals are coming off of a very competitive season in which they finished 29-22 and advanced to the semifinals in the NCCAA World Series. This dynamic and well-rounded class will look to continue to raise the bar for the softball program in Coach Cavanagh's third season. Cavanagh had this to say about the 2019 recruiting class, "We are excited to welcome this incoming class to our program. I love this class's ability to not only hit for power but for average. Top to bottom I would say this class is gritty and aggressive, and they know how to win. Our Cardinal fans will love watching this class over the next four seasons."

Lauren Martin

  • Position: 3B/C
  • High school: Allendale High school
  • Accolades/awards: 3x all conference, 2x all district, 1x all area, batting champ, golden glove, 4yr varsity player
  • Intended Major: Secondary Ed. With an Art Minor

Kate Elias

  • Position: RHP, Corner IF
  • HighSchool: Oak Forest HS (Illinois)
  • Accolades/awards: All Conference, third team all-state
  • Intended Major: Accounting

Madison Donaldson

  • Position: Corner IF
  • High school: Trenton High School
  • Accolades/awards: 2x all district player --- Team made it to district finals her junior year --- senior year semi-finals, but lost in the game to go to regionals.
  • Intended Major: Nursing

Payton Hernandez

  • Position: UT/RHP
  • High school: Clinton High School
  • Accolades/Awards: 3x all conference, 3x all district, 3x all region, 2x all state – Team: District Champs (Soph Year), Final Four (Jr Year), District Champs (Sr year)
  • Intended Major: Nursing

Mya Hall

  • Position: Utility
  • High school: Meridian-Sanford High School
  • Accolades/Awards: 4x all conference – 1x HM & 3x 1st team all-conference, 3x all district, 3x all region, 3x all-state ---- Team: Junior Year (Districts, Regional, Quarterfinal Champs – Appearance in State Semifinals) Conference Champs 2017, 2019
  • Intended Major: Nursing
