(Maumee, OH) The Concordia women's tennis team competed against WHAC opponent Lourdes University on Friday afternoon. The match was held at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Maumee, Ohio. The Cardinals made every point count with Charity Felton securing the Cardinals final point for the 4-3 victory.

The Cardinals earned a point in the double matches as they won two of the three matches. Charity Felton and Taylor Kahlstorf were victorious at 6-2 as Tina Permualla and Kayla Kahlstorf cruised to a 6-2 win as well.

The Cardinals earned three points in the singles matches to meet the four total points needed to secure the victory. Kayla Verhelle worked quickly to earn the first singles point at five singles. Verhelle defeated her opponent, 6-1,6-2. Cloe Smith was efficient in her six singles matchup as she also won, 6-3, 6-3. The last point came from Charity Felton at one singles. After taking the first set 6-4, Felton dropped the second set in a tie-breakder, 5-7. Felton quickly regrouped and rolled in the third set, 6-1.

The victory of Lourdes gave them their first victory of the year. Shortly after the match concluded, the WHAC announced cancellation of the remaining spring competitions.
