Women's track and field takes 6th place at WHAC Championships

(Fort Wayne, IN) Cardinals Track & Field took home 6th place finishes for both the men and women's programs at the 2021 WHAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Indiana Tech. The two-day meet included NAIA top 5 nationally ranked Indiana Tech and Madonna. 

 

Key performances on the women's team included Concordia's top performer Gabby Porter (Quincy, MI), crushing her own school record in the Steeplechase. Porter cruised to a 4th place in the Steeplechase with a time of 12:21.37, and took 8th place in the 800m. Fellow distance team members Anna Glomski (Kalamazoo, MI) and Lydia Schroeder (Napoleon, OH) raced to a 6th place finish in the 4x800 relay alongside Amanda Wood (Macomb, MI) and Alyvia Hock (Manchester, MI). Schroeder went on to also run the 800m, with teammate Liz Trent (Sagniaw, MI), and in the 1,500m run as well. 

 

Wood went on to compete in the 400m, 800m and was also a key member of the 6th place 4x400 relay. Also in the 4x400m was Mae Dulin (Detroit, MI), Sierra Stechebar (Rockford, MI) and Seneca Miller (Ypsilanti, MI). Miller also placed 8th in the 400m, running 59.55, breaking her own school record, and ran first leg in the 6th placed 4x100m relay (53.42). Dulin also ran the 4x100m with Hayle Flowers (Waverly, MI) and Janae Turner (Eastpoint, MI). Flowers, Hock, and Payton Lovins (Wauseon, OH) also competed in the discus throw. 

 

Rounding out the meet's key performances was Megan Espinoza (Manistique, MI), who ran the 10,000m in a time of 45:18.29, which punched her ticket to the National Christian College Athletic Association Championships.
