Several Cardinals recognized in WHAC Track and Field All-Conference Awards

(Fort Wayne, IN) The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference announced their 2020-21 Track and Field awards following the completion of the conference championship meet. Several Cardinals were recognized for their success on and off the track. Eric Bugg was named All-Conference Honorable Mention in the javelin throw, Richard Branch Jr. and Gabriella Porter were both named to the Champions of Character Team, and 10 Cardinals made the All-Academic Team.

 

Eric Bugg was named All-WHAC Honorable Mention for taking third place in the men's javelin throw. The senior threw a distance of 43.68 meters at the WHAC Championships, earning the team six points.

 

Richard Branch Jr. and Gabriella Porter were recognized as the team's WHAC Champions of Character. The Juniors were honored for their commitment to the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

 

Ten different Cardinals were named to the WHAC All-Academic Team for their work in the classroom and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Eric Bugg, Alan Jones, Emily Belinsky, Abbey Bentz, Lauren Drinane, Mae'isha Dulin, Payton Lovins, Gabriella Porter, Lydia Schroeder, and Elizabeth Trent were all named to the WHAC All-Academic Team.
