Men's track and field takes 6th place at WHAC Championships

On the men's side, Eric Bugg (Ida, MI) took home the men's top performer crown. Bugg earned a conference honorable mention title with a 3rd place finish in the javelin (43.68m). Bugg also took home a 5th place finish in the men's hammer (46.10m), and 5th in the men's shot put (13.78), a season best for him. Noah Pastrana (Dayton, OH) threw a personal best in the men's discus with a toss of 30.24m. Josh Wood (Champagne, IL) joined the throws squad in the shot put, discus and hammer throws. Fellow thrower Richard Branch (Detroit, MI) finished 4th in the javelin (42.25m) and had a big toss of 12.32m in the shot put, a new personal best for Branch. Rounding out the javelin squad, Mike Brannan (Dearborn Heights, MI) fought strong winds in the javelin and raced in the 1,500m.

 

Adding depth to the distance squad was Adam Dimaggio (Irmo, SC) who competed in the 800m and 1,500m races. Teddy Eising (Royal Oak, MI) also competed in the 1,500m. Avery Sanchez (Allen Park, MI) competed in the steeplechase, just missing out on a scoring position. Brannan, Dimaggio, Eising and Sanchez all ran the 4x800 relay for 4th place finish with a time of 9:03.81. 

 

The sprint squad saw success in the 4x100m relay where they took 5th place. Alan Jones (Canton, MI), Noah Starkey (Macomb, MI), Kash Warren (Lorain, OH) and Ameir Wilbourn (Chicago, IL) raced to a time of 43.73, beating out powerhouse Aquinas College. 

 

Completing the men's team was Zach Yoder (Mount Pleasant, MI) and Ethan Szabados (Brownstown, MI), who competed in the high jump.
