Derek Hebner earns first WHAC Player of the Week award

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has named their Player's of the Week for Men's Hockey on Monday afternoon and Concordia Cardinals Derek Hebner took home the most recent honors. 

 

Hebner, a junior from Harbor Shores, Michigan, took home the Defensive Player of the Week award after leading the team in goals on the week with three while also assisting on two others. He accounted for five of the team's 12 goals on the week. In the game on Friday, Hebner recorded the Cardinal's sixth goal, which gave them the lead at the time. Saturday's contest saw Hebner grab a short-handed goal, quickly followed by a power play goal less than a minute later. 

 

This is the first Player of the Week honor that Hebner has won in his career.

 

The Cardinals are back in action this weekend when they play Rochester in a home-and-home series with the CUAA home game being on Friday, October 27 with a 5:30 PM puck drop.
