Season Preview: Dance set to begin 2021 season hosting Cardinal Invite virtually

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Concordia dance team opens up their 2020-21 campaign this weekend by virtually hosting the Cardinal Invite. CUAA will serve as the host for the event but will be conducting it virtually with each team live streaming their performances from their own facilities. Judges who will also be remote for the competition. The Cardinals will look to build off of their six performances from last season where they took home third place in two competitions. Head Coach Beth Strom enters her 6th season at the helm of the program.

2021 Schedule Outlook

The Cardinals are set to hit the floor on January 16th for the Cardinal Invite. They are slated for three more regular season competitions on January 30th at the Marian Invite, February 6th at the Aquinas Invite, and February 12th for another edition of the Cardinal Invite in Ann Arbor. They will extend their season the next weekend as they will compete in the WHAC Dance Championships on February 19th.

COVID Conscious Campus

In an effort to maintain a safe and healthy environment at Concordia and in the community, competitions will be limited to essential personnel only. Student-athletes, coaches, judges, athletic administrators will be permitted in the building. Complimentary live stream coverage will be available for the Cardinals performance. As previously noted, for virtual competitions, participating institutions, will provide complimentary live stream coverage for their competitive cheer team is set to perform. Live results, pictures, and archive recordings will be available on social media and on www.concordiacardinals.com immediately upon the conclusion of the competition.

Cardinals Corner Season Preview

Every Wednesday night at 6pm the Cardinals Corner radio show airs on WTKA The Ticket 1050am or on wtka.com. Ira Weintraub from WTKA The Ticket hosts the one-hour show that features three interview segments. Student-athletes, teams, coaches, and staff are highlighted each week along with a segment by Director of Athletics Lonnie Pries. Beth Strom joined Cardinals Corner on Wednesday, January 13th to preview the 2021 competitive season and what she is looking forward to most in this unprecedented season composition.
