Dance takes second place at Cardinal Invite to begin competitive season

FINAL RESULTS

 

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The Concordia dance team debuted their opening performance of the 2020-21 season on Saturday evening as they virtually hosted the Cardinal Invite. The competition featured Calumet St. Joseph's, Concordia, Cumberlands, Lawrence Tech, and Point Park. Each team live streamed their performance from their own facilities while the judges watched attentively and gave their analysis from their own individual locations. The Cardinals recorded a final score of 67.85 to finish second overall.

 

The Cardinals finished with a raw score of 69.85 before 2.0 points in deductions brought them to a total of 67.85. The judges scored Concordia high in the areas of uniformity, execution, transitions, musicality, and choreography. Coach Strom was please with the team's first performance of the season. "The team really brought energy and performed confidently in their first performance of the season," said Strom. "The coaching staff is extremely proud of the work the dancers have put in so far this year. This is a great starting point, and we look forward to seeing where the season takes us. 

 

Point Park took home the top honors of the night with an impressive score of 78.73. Following the second place Cardinals was Cumberlands (56.17), Lawrence Tech (36.13), and Calumet St. Josephs (35.70).

 

The Cardinals will compete two weeks from now as they travel to Marian, Indiana, for the Marian Invite. The starting time for the competition will be announced within the next two weeks.
