(Cedarville, OH) The men's track team took a few athletes to compete at the NCCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Cedarville, Ohio, on Friday, February 7, and Saturday, February 8. The team earned a 13-place finish out of 18 teams.
The weekend started with Ryan Reynolds (Junior; Northville, MI), Scott Smith (Senior; Saginaw, MI), and Jesse Lietzow (Sophomore; St. Clair Shores, MI) competing in the weight throw. Reynolds led the way with a sixth-place finish with a throw of 14.66 meters. Smith finished right behind in sixth place with a throw of 14.64 meters. Leitzow finished off the day with a throw of 12.10 meters.
Smith and Leitzow also competed in the shot put on Saturday. Leitzow led the way with a distance of 12.81 meters and finished in 13 place. Smith finished in 18 place with a throw of 12.18 meters.
Zak Schroeder (Junior; Napoleon, Ohio) competed in the 400 and the 800. Schroeder finished in times of 54 seconds and quickly turned around to run 2:22 to finish the meet.
The teams will compete at the WHAC Championships in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15.
