Men's Track & Field takes 4th-place at Don Kleinow Invitational

(Adrian, MI) - The Men's track and field team traveled to Siena Heights for the Don Kleinow Invitational on Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19. The team earned 8 personal records and earned a fourth-place finish. The Cardinals finished 4 points behind Lawrence Tech and 12 points ahead of Lourdes.

The Cardinals picked up six of their eight personal records on the track. In sprinting events, Franklin Swanson (Freshman; Canton, MI) earned a new personal record in the 100-meter dash and finished in sixth place with a time of 11.21 seconds. Nikao Williams (Freshman; New Haven, MI) in the 200 meters ran a new personal best time of 23.45 seconds. Elijah Boye (Sophomore, Westland, MI) finished in third place in the 110-meter hurdles with a best time of 18.59 seconds.

In distance events, Dominic Catallo (Freshman; Westland, MI) ran to a new personal record time of 4:30 in the 1500. Theodore Eising (Senior; Royal Oak, MI) and Jared Stiver (Senior; Tecumseh, MI) each ran to new personal record times of 2:10 and 2:22 in the 800-meter run.

In field events, freshman Thomas Haynie and Jessie Leitzow (St. Clair Shores, MI) each earned personal records in their events. Haynie jumped to a new best distance of 5.91 meters in the long jump. Leitzow threw a new distance of 14.23 meters in shot put.

The men's team will be back in action on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27 at Concordia for the CUAA Alumni Legacy Meet.
