(Mount Pleasant, MI) - The Men's Cross Country team traveled to Shepherd, Michigan for the Jeff Drenth Memorial 5k hosted by Central Michigan University on Friday, August 30.

The team battled through some high heat to put up their opening marks of the season. Luke Bentz (Senior; Fort Wayne, IN) was the top finisher for the Cardinals, with a time of 18:36. Dominic Catallo (Sophomore; Westland, MI) finished second on the team by finishing in 19:37. He was closely followed by Freshman Eric Breidert (Wenatche, WA) who wrapped up the day for the men's team.

The Cardinals will be back in action on Friday, September 13 when they will travel to Wayne State University's Warrior Challenge at Willow Metro Park.
