(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Men's Cross Country team competed at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College on Saturday, October 26. The Men came away with 2 personal records, 1 season best and 1 collegiate debut.
The team was led by Luke Bentz with a finishing time of 28:44. Bentz improved his time by a minute and 4 seconds from an 8k earlier in the season. Dominic Catallo ran to a new personal best time by cutting 48 seconds and finishing with a total time of 29:53. Eric Breidert also ran to a new personal best time of 32:37, which was a 28 second improvement. Dawson Kolka made his collegiate debut in the 8k. After helping a fellow runner who was struggling, Kolka ended up finishing the race in 52:04.
"Today was a great day! We finally started to see the results that we have been waiting for. The conditions were the best I have ever seen and the guys took advantage of that. We will use this race and confidence heading into conference, especially since we will be right back here," said Head Coach Dominic Santina.
The Men will finish out their season at the WHAC Championships on Friday, November 8 at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids.
