Callie Wabeke signs with Concordia Golf

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head golf coach Elisabeth Komurka and the Concordia golf program have announced the signing of Callie Wabeke from Hinckley, Ohio.

Callie played under the direction of Dave Ressler at Lutheran West where she had a decorated career. Wabeke was a varsity letter earned all four years and was the team captain and team MVP her senior season. She earned 2nd Team All-Conference in her Junior season and 1st Team in her Senior campaign. Her best score through 9 holes is a 38, and she posted an 84 and 90 in her past two sectionals.

Coach Ressler talked about how she improved as a golfer during her four years at Lutheran West. "It has been a true pleasure to have been her coach and to see her love of the game grow over those years. Callie leaves Lutheran West as one of the top female golfers in school history."

"When I first met Callie in February of 2021, I was struck by the maturity and thoughtfulness she displayed, as well as capabilities both in the classroom and on course," said Concordia Golf Coach Elisabeth Komurka. "Callie has only grown since then, and I am very excited to have her join our ladies on the Women's Golf Team."

Callie is the daughter of Todd and Danita Wabeke and plans on majoring in Rehab Sciences with a goal of moving into Occupational Therapy.

"God has blessed me in so many ways," said Callie. "I thank Him for my talent in playing golf. I appreciate my high school coaches for putting up with me and encouraging me. I am glad God chose the perfect parents for me who support me in using my talents. I am so excited to be given this opportunity to play golf for Coach Komurka at CUAA."
