NAIA CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW: Cheer prepared for ninth-straight appearance at National Championships

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals are preparing for their ninth straight appearance at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championships on Friday and Saturday. 

 

The Cardinals earned a bid into the National Championships as the host team.

The NAIA Championship will feature 14 other teams from across the country. The other teams joining the Cardinals will be Dickinson State (ND), Cumberlands (KY), Tennessee Southern, Xavier (LA), Missouri Valley, Oklahoma City, Florida Memorial, Georgetown (KY), Northwestern (IA), St. Ambrose (IA), Lourdes (OH), Grand View (IA), Indiana Wesleyan, and Saint Mary (KS). 

 

The event will feature two rounds, with teams competing once on each day of the competition. The preliminary round will count towards 25% of the overall score, while the final round will make up the remaining 75%. In the event of a tie, the score from the final will be used to break the tie. 

 


2024 RESULTS

St. Ambrose took home their second straight NAIA Championship last year with another record-breaking performance score of 97.28.

 

The Cardinals finished in fourth place last season with a final score of 91.73. 

 


2024-25 SEASON REVIEW

The Cardinals have competed in seven events this season, with six of them counting towards their season average of 84.68. The Cardinals have finished first at all but one event this season. 

 

Eight different Cardinals earned honors in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) this season including Molly Bartels, Celina Hinojosa, Bianca Hrynciw, Zion Moorman, and Eunique Robinson on the First Team All-Conference. The Second Team All-Conference selections were Treneice Coleman-Kelly, Charlotte Cook, and Hailey Hoyle

 

The Cardinals first win of the season was at the Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT) which was their sixth-straight title.
