(St. Louis, MO) The Concordia Dance Team took to the floor once again this Saturday with the Spartan Showcase hosted by Missouri Baptist. Concordia finished in fifth place out of the 12 teams in the competition.
The Cardinals finished with a score of 77.50, nearly two points higher than their score earlier this week at Lourdes. Concordia received their highest marks in the team turns sequence, but their score was especially boosted by a deduction free performance.
The hosts, Missouri Baptist, took away the top score of the event, tallying 81.07 points for the victory. St. Francis, Oklahoma City, and William Penn were the only other teams to finish in front of Concordia.
"I'm very proud of what our team put out there on the floor today," said Head Coach Beth Strom. "The team's drive to improve from competition to competition is very strong. Also, to place in the top five within a large group of teams is a great accomplishment at this point in our season. We are looking forward to continuing to improve on our execution for our upcoming competitions in the next few weeks."
