Indoor Track and Field Take Their Marks for the 2020-21 Season

(Ann Arbor, MI) – The men's and women's track and field team will take their marks to start the 2020-21 indoor season this weekend at the IWU Invitational. The meet will take place at Troyer Fieldhouse in Marion, Indiana, and will be hosted by Indiana Wesleyan starting at 2 PM on Friday and 9 AM on Saturday. The meet will feature an array of WHAC and NAIA competition.

Concordia Personnel

Head Coach Andrew Tirmenstein is set to begin his 7th season at the helm of track and field program for the Cardinals. Allison Unger, Jonathan Royce, Bryant Hudson, and Danielle McGuiness will add their knowledge and expertise in their respected events. The senior class from both the men's and women's program have represented the level of excellence and dedication that the program seeks in their athletes. This year's seniors include Alan Jones and Noah Pastrana while the women's seniors include Abbey Bentz, Gabriella Porter, Lauren Drinane, Mae'isha Dulin, and Seneca Miller.

Adam DiMaggio, Kash Warren, Nygie Rhodes, Richard Branch, and Zachary Yoder will look to compliment the senior leadership for the men. Autumn Pillsbury, Hayle Flowers, Lydia Schroeder, and Payton Lovins round out the upperclassmen for the female squad.  

Avery Sanchez, Ethan Szabados, Jordan Mayweather, Michael Brannan, Andrew Wiemer, and Zachary Belinsky seek to build off the momentum that they established after their first season with the program. Alyvia Hock, Elizabeth Trent, Emily Belinsky, Lindsey Travis, and Sierra Stechebar continue to push themselves to new heights and personal records as well.

The track and field program brings in a strong and exciting class of 12 new faces to Ann Arbor. Jeremiah Alfred, Darnell Bobo, Theodore Eising, Michael O'Brien, Noah Starkey, Geoffrey Wallace, Ameir Wilburn, and Joshua Wood come to Concordia with an eager spirit to elevate the program to the next level. Megan Espinoza, Anna Glomski, Destiny McBride, and Amanda Wood will have a tremendous opportunity to learn from their fellow upperclassmen on the team as they transition into the collegiate level of competition.

2020 Schedule Outlook

As previously mentioned, the Cardinals will travel to Indiana for the IWU Invitational on January 22nd and 23rd. Concordia will then travel to Indiana the next weekend for the Turnstone Invitational on January 29th. The event will be hosted by Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. The team will then compete in the Wide Track Classic on February 5th at Hillsdale College before returning back to Indiana for another edition of the Turnstone Invitational on February 13th. The indoor season will wrap up with the season at the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, which are annually held at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI.
