SEASON PREVIEW: Women's Golf prepares for the 2022 Fall season

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Golf team will begin their season tomorrow, September 7, as they will head down to The Legacy Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, MI for the Lourdes Invitational.


Head Coach Elizabeth Komurka will begin her third season as the head coach of Concordia's men's and women's programs. "Im very excited to see what the three returners will do after a summer of hard work and a year of experience under their belt, and them also what the freshman will be able to do this season." Said Kormurka about the upcoming season. 


Returning Players

The Cardinals will return all three players that competed last spring as they look to continue to improve. Lilly Alaspa, Amelia Black, and Rachel Yuhas all return for the upcoming season. The team will have two incoming freshmen as Claire McMaster and Callie Wabeke.


Rachel Yuhas is the top returner on the season with an average of 102.85 over 13 rounds. She tallied a one-round season-low of 98 at the Heritage Hill Collegiate last spring. Amelia Black was able to record a 107 over 11 rounds. Lily Alaspa rounds out the returners with a 118.38 average throughout eight rounds all in the spring in 2022. 


2022 Fall Schedule

Following the first Lourdes Invitational, Concordia will host their Cardinal Classic Invitational on the 12th and 13th of September at the Washtenaw Golf Club in Ypsilanti, MI. The only other event the Cardinals will travel to is the IU-East Invitational at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, IN on Friday, September 23. 


The Cardinals will travel to two meets in October on the 3rd and 4th they head to Stonehedge North Golf Club in Augusta, MI for the WHAC Fall Preview. The final event of the fall will be their second Lourdes Invitational on October 10th at the Sylvania Country Club in Sylvania, OH.


The Cardinals will then prepare for their 2023 Spring season, with the schedule to be determined.
