Women's Golf competes at WHAC Fall Preview

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Golf program competed at the WHAC Fall Preview throughout the beginning of the week at Stonehedge Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan. The two-day event featured stroke play on Monday that saw the Cardinals finishing in 11th place while Tuesday saw Concordia

 

CUAA STROKE PLAY

As the Cardinals finished with a total score of 399 which was good for the 11th place finish. The team score for that day was the seventh-best in program history as well. 

 

Callie Wabeke was the top finisher in the afternoon for the Cardinals. She ended up shooting an 84 for a 16th-place finish. That score is the second-best score in program history. Rachel Yuhas was the next top finisher on the day for the Cardinals shooting a 97, while Amelia Black shot a 107. Lilly Alaspa rounded out the contributions to the team score with 111, while Claire McMaster shot a 194 on the day. 

 

DAY 1 TOURNAMENT RECAP

The University of Northwestern Ohio finished first after the first day as they shot 321 and eight shots better than second-place Indiana Tech. Manasa Potluri from Lawrence Tech was the top finisher in the tournaments she topped Bethany Nowak by one stroke by shooting a 75. 

 

CUAA MATCH PLAY

The Cardinals were up against UM-Dearborn and Rochester in two rounds of match play. The Cardinals would fall to Dearborn 4-1, as Amelia Black would come away with a win in her match. 

 

The second match would see the Cardinals sweep Rochester 5-0, as everyone was able to pick up a win against the Warriors.

The Cardinals head to the second Lourdes Invitational of the season next Monday, October 10 at the Sylvania Country Club in Sylvania, OH.
