Volleyball blanks Lawrence Tech in 3 Sets on Friday Night

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia volleyball hosted Lawrence Tech on Friday night to continue their WHAC conference season. The Cardinals turned in a solid performance and brought home the win in straight sets.

 

Claudia Grepke led the team with 13 kills. Madeline Vnuk had a team-high 32 assists. McKenzie Peters secured the back end with 21 digs. Kayla Peters and Jessalyn Peavyhouse tied with 3 blocks.

 

Set 1 – CUAA 25, LTU 19

Claudia Grepke had Concordia's first kill. CUAA used a 5-0 run to take the lead and Madalyn Lisman later added back-to-back kills. LTU tied the match 13-13, but the Cardinals again rebuilt their lead with aces from Paige Staton, Kayla Peters, and McKenzie Peters. Claudia Grepke smashed a cross-court kill to finish set 1.

 

Set 2 – CUAA 25, LTU 15

Jessalyn Peavyhouse and Claudia Grepke combined for a block to start set 2. Abigail Austin and Breann June notched aces and Kayla Peters made back-to-back kills for an 11-3 lead. Claudia Grepke continued her strong play at the net with many kills and a team block with Madalyn Lisman. Jessalyn Peavyhouse and Kayla Peters combined for two blocks to close out set 2.

 

Set 3 – CUAA 25, LTU 16

Claudia Grepke made the first Cardinal kill in set 3. Abigail Austin recorded back-to-back aces and two kills from Kayla Peters put the team up 9-3. Concordia fought to maintain their lead with an ace from McKenzie Peters and several kills by Breann June down the stretch. An LTU error closed out the game in set 3.

 

Concordia will travel to UNOH tomorrow at 1 pm.
