Men's Golf finishes up play at the Battle at the Brae

(Augusta, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf team traveled to the Stoatin Brae Golf Club for a two-day event at the Battle of the Brae on both Friday and Saturday. The Cardinals would finish the two-round event in eleventh place with a score of 638. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

Two Cardinals tied at the top of the CUAA leaderboard with scores of 159 as Joshua Line and Chase Temple posted 1-round low scores of 79 and 77 respectively. Zakary Schroeder and Andrew Sweitzer each posted a 161 as they both hit lows of 80 and 77 respectively. The final player apart of the team was Gibson Wilke he posted a score of 173 and a low of 79. 

 

Andrew Burk competed in the tournament as an individual with a total score of 170 and a low of 81. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Joshua Line and Chase Temple posted the fourth-best 2-day scores in program history (159), while scores from Zakary Schroeder and Andrew Sweitzer saw the seventh-best 2-day scores (161).

 

The team score of 638 was the second-lowest mark in program history as well. 

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

The team championship went to the host school in Lawrence Tech as they totaled a final score of 583. The individual winner would also come from Lawrence Tech with Bruno Vicente shooting a 140 over the event. 

 

NEXT UP

The Cardinal golf team will head to the Pilot Invitational next weekend, April 14 and 15, at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana.
