Men's Golf competes at the Pilot Invitational; Temple set program record

(South Bend, IN) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Golf team headed to Indiana for their most recent competition at the Pilot Invitational which was held at the Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Indiana. The Cardinals finished in 11th place after shooting a 633 throughout the two rounds. 

 

CUAA RESULTS

At the top of the Cardinal leaderboard was Chase Temple who posted a 145 with a low 68 in the first round, he finished in fifth place. Next up was Zakary Schroeder with a 160 score. Andrew Sweitzer and Gibson Wilke each posted a score of 164. The final Cardinal golfer was Kip French he shot a 172. 

 

ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS

Two Cardinals entered the record books as individuals as Chase Temple earned the top spot for both a one-round and a two-round score with his 68 and 145 total scores. Zakary Schroeder recorded the sixth-lowest score for a two-round event. 

 

The team narrowly missed out on a team record as they tallied a total score of 633 which was one shot off the record. 

 

TOURNAMENT RECAP

Both the team and individual titles would go the way of Cedarville University as the team posted a score of 575. Caden Scarbrough recorded an event-low score of 140. 

 

NEXT UP

The team's next match will be next weekend, April 21 and 22 as they will compete at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Spring Invitational as they round out the 2022-23 season.
