Men's Cross Country finishes 10 at WHAC Championships; Bauer places 25th

(Grand Rapids, MI) - The Men's Cross-Country team traveled to Grand Rapids on Friday, November 3 for the WHAC Championships hosted by Aquinas at Riverside Park. The team came away with a 10th-place finish with a total of 275 points, 10 points ahead of Cleary and 31 points behind Lourdes. On an individual side, the team came away with 4 personal records.

The team was led once again by Micah Bauer (Freshman; Traverse City, MI) with a 25th place finish in a time of 26:28. Senior Theodore Eising (Royal Oak, MI) was the second Cardinal to cross the line, with a time of 28:32, a new personal record. He was followed closely by Luke Bentz (Junior; Fort Wayne, IN) at 28:41 and Nathan Milliman (Freshman; Ann Arbor, MI) in 28:52. Milliman's time was a new personal record for him as well.

The team score was wrapped up by Avery Sanchez (Grad Senior; Allen Park, MI) and Dominic Catallo (Freshman; Westland, MI). Sanchez finished in a time of 30:35 and Catallo finished in a new personal record time of 30:41.

To wrap up the day for the Cardinals were Adam Fisch (Sophomore; Caro, MI) and Jared Stiver (Senior; Tecumseh, MI). Fisch returned from injury to finish in 31:38, while Stiver continued his impressive fall improvement, running another personal best time of 34:36.

The Men had 5 athletes named to the WHAC All-Academic team, as Stiver, Sanchez, Bentz, Eising and Fisch were at least Sophomores with a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Stiver was also named the Men's Champions of Character athlete for Concordia.

The team will wrap up their season next weekend in Warsaw, Indiana for the National Christian College Athletic Association Cross Country Nationals Championships. The men will make their first appearance in 21 years. They are scheduled to compete at 9 AM on Friday, November 10.
