Men's Cross Country meets NCCAA Qualifying time at Lansing Community College meet

(Lansing, MI) - The Men's Cross-Country team traveled to Grand Woods Park in Lansing for the Lansing Community College hosted invite. The team competed on a very warm afternoon against more than 20 teams from across the state. The team finished in 12th place out of 19 scoring teams. The team also was able to qualify for the National Christian College Athletic Association National Championships with their times from the meet. They will return for the first time in 22 years to the NCCAA Championships.

The team was led by Micah Bauer (Freshman; Traverse City, MI) with a 26:16 and a 16th-place finish. Bauer was able to put himself fourth all-time in Concordia history with that finishing time, while also earning a personal record by 1:36. The Cardinals then had three runners finish together, as Luke Bentz (Junior; Fort Wayne, IN) narrowly edged Nathan Milliman (Freshman; Ann Arbor, MI) at the line, finishing in 29:13.2 and 29:13.3 respectively. Theodore Eising (Senior; Royal Oak, MI) finished right behind them in 29:14.6. Adam Fisch (Sophomore; Caro, MI) finished up the team score and qualifying effort with a time of 30:50. Eising, Milliman, and Fisch all earned personal records on the day, with improvements of 35, 38 and 9 seconds.

Avery Sanchez (Graduate Senior; Allen Park, MI) ran a season-best time of 31:11 to finish sixth on the team. Jared Stiver (Senior; Tecumseh, MI) saw another big improvement: finishing in 35:59 and earning a new personal record time by 1:21.

The team will take a well-needed week off of competition before heading to Bethel University in Indiana on Friday, October 6 for the Bethel University Invite
