(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia women's soccer traveled to Indiana Tech on Wednesday night for a WHAC contest under the lights. The Cardinals kept the game close and had several promising chances on offense, but the Warriors took the game 2-0.
Hayley Jacobson recorded 5 saves in a complete game in goal. The Cardinals attacked in the 6th minute when Kendra Lewis had a shot saved and another attempt blocked. Concordia had another solid chance when Megan Starkey dribbled past her defender in the 26th minute and fired a shot on goal. However, Indiana Tech broke the tie in the 28th minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Hayley Jacobson remained sharp and kept her team in the game with 4 more saves in the second half. Kendra Lewis continued to lead the offensive effort with another shot on goal and a corner kick attempt. The Warriors extended their lead off a penalty kick in the 84th minute to go up 2-0. Taia Vega stayed on the attack and fired a shot in the final minutes of play, but Indiana Tech held on for the win.
Concordia will travel to rival Siena Heights this Friday for a game at 1pm.
