Women's Soccer battles Lawrence Tech to 2-2 draw

 

(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia women's soccer hosted Lawrence Tech on Sunday evening for a WHAC conference tilt.  The Cardinals overcame an early 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead and maintained their advantage late into the game.  An equalizer by LTU in the 82nd minute led to the game ending in a 2-2 tie.

 

Hayley Jacobson played a complete game in net, notching 11 saves.  Lawrence Tech struck first just under 3 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.  The Cardinals responded in the 11th minute to tie the game.  Hazel Wright took a free kick from the far side of the goal and Kiera Savage was there to jam in the rebound.

Concordia had another chance after a corner kick taken by Kendra LewisHayley Jacobson made 3 more saves in the half and the game was knotted 1-1 at halftime.

The Cardinals took a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 49th minute.  After Kendra Lewis played a low ball from the left side of the goal, Isabella Elsey tapped in a rebound in front of the net for the go-ahead marker.

Hayley Jacobson remained sharp with many more critical saves as the half went on.  However, Lawrence Tech was able to score in the 82nd minute to tie the game 2-2.  The contest would end in a tie as time expired.

 

Concordia will remain at home this Wednesday, October 12 when they host Madonna at 1pm.
