(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia women's soccer hosted Rochester Christian on Wednesday afternoon to open the 2024 season. The Cardinals fought hard and played with heart, but the team fell 7-0.
Hayley Jacobson played a full game in net racking up 21 saves. The Cardinals weathered a heavy onslaught from Rochester Christian early in the game. Jacobson made nine saves in the first half, but CUAA trailed 2-0 at halftime.
The Cardinals continued to battle in the second half with several rushes into the offensive zone by Hannah McCarthy. Rochester Christian continued to pour on shots with Cardinal defenders helping to block them as well. However, CUAA fell 7-0 as time expired.
Concordia will host Cornerstone this Saturday, September 14th, at 12pm in Ferry Field at Cardinal Stadium.
