(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Women's Soccer team returned to Cardinal Stadium for their first home game in over two weeks. The Cardinals celebrated their senior day honoring their five seniors who were a part of this team this season. Those seniors were Hayley Jacobson, Samantha Kohls, Lauryn Rhodea, Maddy Ankoviak, and Taia Vega.
Senior goalkeeper Hayley Jacobson set a new Cardinal career record with her fifth save of the day with 1:51 remaining in the first half. She surpasses Stephanie Malik's record that she set in 1999.
Cleary got on the board first in the sixth minute of the game and would tally their second with one in the 13th minute as well. Jacobson made multiple saves in the first half that would come off of rebounded shots. The Cardinal defense held fast for the remainder of the half.
Cleary once again struck first in the second half, scoring in 55 seconds. 10 minutes later the Cougars grabbed their second goal of the half for the 4-0 lead. With 5:32 remaining in the game the Cardinals had their first corner kick of the game. Isabella Elsey took the corner and sent it far side to Katelyn Aiello who headed it past the Cougar goalie for the Cardinal score.
