Women's Soccer fights hard, falls 2-0 to Cornerstone

(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia women's soccer hosted Cornerstone on Saturday afternoon to continue WHAC play.  The Cardinals turned in a strong effort and kept the game close, but the Golden Eagles took a 2-0 victory.

 

Hayley Jacobson played a complete game in net, making 16 saves.  The Cardinals played tight defense in the first half with Jacobson recording five of her saves.  The contest was scoreless at halftime.

 

Cornerstone broke through in the second half with a goal in the 47th minute.  The Cardinals continued to look to work the ball up field with a deep throw-in by Isabella Elsey setting up an offensive chance.  Hayley Jacobson remained sharp with 11 more saves, but Cornerstone claimed the 2-0 win.

 

Concordia will remain at home this Wednesday, September 18th, to host University of Michigan-Dearborn at 4pm.
