SEASON PREVIEW: Women's Tennis set to start season at home this weekend

(Ann Arbor, MI) The Concordia Women's Tennis Team will start their season September 13th at home against Albion. Head Coach Dean Boodakian will enter his 6th season with Concordia and his first at the helm of the women's program. 

 

Roster Breakdown

The Cardinals are led by five seniors on their roster. Hollie Johnson went 7-9 in her singles matches last season while winning 6 doubles matches as well. Jadyn Hackmann competed in 7 singles matches and won 6 doubles matches in 2023-24. Amelia Black won a pair of singles and doubles matches. Sydney Orkisz and Makayla Steinmetz add some depth to the squad as well. 

 

The Cardinals have a pair of juniors including Jorja Vartoogian, who won a singles match last season, and Melanie Foucha.

 

Concordia has four sophomores with Jules Meads and Savannah Borrego who won 4 and 2 singles matches respectively. Jacey Powell took 3 singles matches and Mara Strock will look for her first collegiate action this season. 

 

2024 Fall Schedule

Concordia will open up their season at home with matches against Albion and Franklin on September 13th and 14th at the Racquet Club of Ann Arbor. Two weeks later they will stay at home as they invite Concordia University Chicago into town. The Cardinals will wrap up the fall with matches at Olivet and Adrian on October 6th and 7th.
