Women's Tennis wins Senior Day match against Olivet

(Ann Arbor, MI) Concordia Women's Tennis took to the courts Sunday afternoon for their Senior Day contest against the University of Olivet. The Cardinals grounded the Comets in a 4-3 victory to close out their fall competitive slate.

 

Concordia won all three doubles matches to win the first point of the contest. Hollie Johnson and Jadyn Hackmann won the top match 6-4 while Jules Meads and Savannah Borrego took the second match 7-5. The Cardinals had their biggest margin of victory in the third match when Jacey Powell and Jorja Vartoogian pulled out the 6-2 win.

 

The Cardinals took three of the six singles matches, enough to claim the win for the match overall. Jacey Powell came out strong in the second match, ultimately earning the (6-1, 7-6) win. Jules Meads collected another point for Concordia with a (6-4, 6-4) victory in the third slot. Hollie Johnson secured the final point for the Cardinals in three set thriller fifth match, winning (6-4, 2-6, 10-6). Jadyn Hackmann took 6 games total in the fourth slot before falling. Savannah Borrego took 4 games and Jorja Vartoogian took a pair in the top and sixth singles matches respectively.

 

The Women's and Men's Tennis programs will welcome back their alumni for an alumni match on Sunday, October 20th. The match is set for 1:00 PM at the Chippewa Club.
