Concordia recognizes graduates with live degree conferral ceremony

On Sunday afternoon Concordia University Ann Arbor conferred the undergraduate and graduate degrees of 164 students in a live ceremony(WATCH). Over half of the total graduates have represented the athletic department as either a player or a coach. CUAA administration previously announced that Sunday's formal commencement ceremony was postponed for December. At that time, graduates will be able to formally walk across the stage, hear their name called in the CUAA Field House, hear congratulatory remarks from President Ferry, and receive their diploma and celebrate with their friends and family.

COVID-19 caused winter and spring seasons to be cancelled and academic classes to be completed online. Certainly it was not the way a senior student-athlete would have expected their senior season to conclude. Student athletes will have the opportunity to come back (if they choose) to complete their coursework and athletic eligibility as The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), granted an extra season of competition for spring sport student-athletes.

Regardless of whether these student-athletes complete their remaining eligibility or choose to take the next steps, we thank them for their contributions to the Concordia community both on and off the playing field. Their ability to carry out the mission of the University and the athletic department during their time as a Cardinal is remarkable. We know they will continue to live that mission and impact their communities.

Below are a list of publications, articles, and highlights about some of the student-athlete graduates that were shared during their time as a Cardinal.
