Men's Hockey falls at #15 Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Concordia men's hockey traveled to #15 Indiana Tech on Saturday afternoon for game 2 of a weekend home-and-home series. The Cardinals were able to break a shutout in the third period, but the Warriors claimed a 5-1 win.

 

Zachary Janis started in goal for the Cardinals, making 36 saves. Janis remained sharp with a breakaway save early in the period. Indiana Tech struck first with a goal just over 12 minutes into the period. Concordia had a powerplay opportunity late in the period, but the Warriors led 1-0 after the 1st.

Indiana Tech added another goal in the second period. The Cardinals received another powerplay chance with Seth Francois taking a solid shot. The Warriors tacked on one more marker and led 3-0 after the 2nd.

Concordia broke the shutout on the powerplay early in the 3rd period. After Zane Rydel won a faceoff at the left circle, Seth Francois quickly grabbed the puck and fired a wrist shot for a goal. While the Cardinals kept battling, Indiana Tech was able to add two more goals and claimed the win.

 

Concordia will play next on Friday, November 11 when they travel to Aquinas at 8 pm.
