Cheer takes second place at regular season finale

(Ann Arbor, Mich. ) – The Concordia cheer team concluded their regular season on Saturday night hosting the third Cardinal Invite of the season. This competition was hosted virtually and featured three other teams; St. Andrew, St. Ambrose, and Aquinas. Each team live streamed their performance from their own facility while the judges watched from their own locations to record the scores and comments. The Cardinals recorded a final score of 81.40 to finish second overall.

 

The scored the Cardinals consistently high in the areas of partner/group stunts, basket tosses, and jumps. The Cardinals recorded one deduction lowering their subtotal from 82.40.

 

Coach Edge was proud of the team's effort. "I am so proud of this team," said Edge. "Besides one error in pyramids this has been our strongest performance to date. We work each week to put out a strongly executed routine."

 

St. Ambrose took first place overall with a total score of 84.92. Aquinas was just behind the Cardinals with a total of 80.28 followed by St. Andrews (80.28).

 

The Cardinals will return to action next Saturday when they begin post-season competition. The Cardinals will host the WHAC Competitive Cheer Championships on Saturday, February 27th. The event is scheduled to start at 4pm at the Concordia Field House.
