Men's Golf sets Program-Low at Battle at Bedford Valley

(Battle Creek, MI) - The Concordia University men's golf team headed back to the links on Monday and Tuesday to compete at the LTU Battle at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek, MI. The event featured multiple WHAC teams competing at the event. The team also saw the lowest two-day score of 654 which is the lowest in program history. 

 

Neil Heinlein saw himself standing in the top-20 of the event hitting a 76 and 77 score respectively at the event to finish with a two-day score of 153 and finish in 19th. Joshua Line saw himself finish tied for 33rd with a two-day score of 159 with a low of 76. Dalton Steigler was the next finisher for the Cardinals hitting a 161 and a low of 79. 

 

Travis Lysiak and Zach Burk were the final two participants on the day that contributed to the final score as they hit 182 and 185 respectively. Lysiak's low was 87 and Burk shot a 91. 

 

Three other Cardinals participated in the event as individuals as Will Heiber, Andrew Burk and Gibson Wilke also competed. Heiber shot a 174, with a low of 86, Burk shot a 185, with a low of 91, while Wilke shot a 197, with a low of 97.

 

Heinlein's score of 153 at the event tied his own score for the first all-time low score in program history. Line was also able to crack the top-10 in program history as his score of 159 is tied for the second-lowest in the program. While Steigler set a career-low of 161, which puts him tied for the third-lowest score in program history. 

 

Lawrence Tech won the team event posting a score of 580, as they finished with two of the top three scores. Lawrence Tech also claimed the individual title as Victor Queinnec posted an event low of 139. 

 

The Cardinal's next event will be next week as they will travel to the Lourdes Spring Invitational on April 19th at Legacy by Arthur Hills Golf Club in Ottawa Lake, MI.
