Napoleon's Zakary Schroeder signs with Concordia

(Ann Arbor, MI) Head golf coach Elisabeth Komurka and the Concordia golf program have announced the signing of Zakary Schroeder from Napoleon, Ohio.

Zak played under the direction of Casten Reed at Napoleon High School where he earned All-League and All-Academic Honors. Schroeder was a three year varsity letter winner, volunteer coach at a youth golf camp, and had a low 9-hole score of 36. He was also a four year letter winner on the track team and will be joining the Concordia track and field program as well.

Cardinal head coach Elisabeth Komurka is excited to add Schroeder to the program. "Zak has a mature mindset and strong work ethic which he applies to all of his endeavors in a classroom, on a golf course and on a track. During his time here, I expect him to serve as a grounding force on the Men's Golf Team in competition and matters of faith. Zak will be a wonderful addition to the team that we are excited to welcome this fall."

Zak is the son of Matt and Shawna Schroeder and the brother of current Cardinal runner, Lydia. He plans to study Business while at Concordia.

"We can't say enough about the Christ centered community and atmosphere at Concordia," said Zak's parents. "We feel blessed as parents that he will continue his education and athletics at CUAA just as his sister Lydia has had the opportunity to do. The Christian education that is provided at CUAA is a blessing to both the students who attend and to the parents of those students. Knowing that Zak will continue to grow in his faith at CUAA is something we will always be grateful for! Go Cards!"

"I feel so blessed and grateful for the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic career at CUAA," said Zak. "One thing that set CUAA apart from the other colleges was the involvement with Christ. My faith has played a huge part growing into a Christ centered life and I can hardly wait to express it in everything I do!"
