(Battle Creek, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals men's golf team is ready for the final Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match of the 2021-22 season as they are set for the WHAC Championship in Battle Creek, MI

About the Cardinals

The Cardinals will have five representatives at the event as they will have Neil Heinlein, Joshua Line, Dalton Steigler, Zach Burk, and Travis Lysiak will all be a part of the tournament. The Cardinals saw one of their best matches being played at the LTU Battle at Bedford Valley 10 days ago as they posted the lowest two day score in program history.

 

Neil Heinlein has seen good results in his first year as a Cardinal posting some top numbers in the program's record books. His low score of 73 at the Heritage Hill Classic last fall was the lowest 1-day score in program history and contributed to his 153 two-day score which is also the lowest 2-day score. Joshua Line is another top golfer for the Cardinals as he is coming off of his season low-score of 76 at the LTU Battle of Bedford Valley ten days ago at this same course. 

 

Next up for the Cardinals is Dalton Steigler. He also contributed to his season-low at the LTU Battle of Bedford Valley with his score of 79. Zach Burk will be the fourth golfer for the team with his low score of 85 back in the fall at the Bill Bockwitz Classic. The final golfer for the weekend is Travis Lysiak who was another one of the Cardinals to post a season-low score at the LTU Battle of Bedford Valley 10 days ago which saw him post a score of 87.

WHAC Preview

As a team, Lawrence Tech is at the top of the conference as their team average is 298 which is barely ahead of the UNOH by .5 strokes. The top individual golfer of the conference throughout the season has been Bruno Vicente who has averaged 72.9 strokes per round played. 

 

WHAC History

Last season LTU won both the regular season and the WHAC Championship tournament with a score of 919 which was five strokes better than Madonna. 

 

The Cardinals finished ninth at the final WHAC Championship event with a score from 1005.
