Men's Soccer fall to Ohio Northern at conclusion of road trip

(Ada, OH) – Concordia men's soccer traveled to Ohio Northern on Friday afternoon to wrap up their three game road trip.  The Cardinals entered the contest 2-1 coming off a loss to Indiana Wesleyan while the Polar Bears came in 0-1-1. The Cardinals fell behind early and eventually Ohio Northern pulled away for a 5-0 victory. 

 

 

Ryan Webb started in goal for Concordia, making 2 saves in the first half. Ohio Northern struck early, scoring in the 15th minute to take an early lead for Concordia. Tanguy Flachez recorded the only shot on goal of the game for the Cardinals in the 25th minute.  Concordia continued to push on, keeping the score tight with the Polar Bears. However, Ohio Northern would strike again in the 43rd minute to double their lead just before the break.

 

Kyri Wixom came in to play goalie in the 2nd half, notching 3 saves. ONU would strike again three minutes into the second half. Wixom would make a save in the 57th minute before another goal in the 58th minute by the Polar Bears. 

 

Ohio Northern would strike again in the 89th minute to extend the lead to five.

 

 

Concordia will play their next game on Monday, September 13 at Cardinal Stadium against Georgetown (KY).  The game is set to begin at 1pm.
